We all know and love our modern GPS, Satnav systems, small lightweight but powerful portable systems. But it wasn't always that way.....I first installed navigation systems into our vehicles in the late 90's (98) separate hard drive or DVD units that were cabled to TFT screens with 2D mapping .
It was the year 2000 that one of the first portable navigation systems became available. Looking for something in my garage today and what should come across.......

Some bonus images when we came across a trio of trucks carrying ADF "Bushmaster" vehicles, This was at the "Three Ways" (Intersection of the road from Mt Isa and the Road running between Alice Springs & Darwin)
Katherine is a town 3hour South of Darwin - Northern Territory - Australia.
Remote and a fair distance from Sydney but we needed to deliver the Health Clinic vehicles as soon as we could!

I've just come back from delivering these to Katherine in the Northern Territory......but as they say that is a whole other story!
